What she's like
She has super high empathy
This means that she sees and feels your pain, problems and joy as deeply as you do. She is able to step into the mind and emotions of a buyer profile (persona)… which means that her application of strategy is exceptionally well suited to the persona. This means that the wording which she writes resonates deeply with the buyer so that you get engagement and action in your marketing.
She is a reader
Readers are clever and reading makes them better. Readers learn quickly. Readers are thinkers. Readers can explain stuff. This means that she can understand a business and its products/solutions, apply her marketing savvy and leverage her super high empathy to produce a persuasive message that moves people to act.
She is honest and brave
With grace and respect she will tell you when she disagrees with you. This is good for business. Her honesty to self and honesty to others means that she is highly diligent. Your stuff will get done. Her work ethic is inspiring and responsible. Her ethics align with the Wild Pursuit ethos and she is ever the leader in this space.
She is a confident person
This brings out the best in other people. This cuts the rubbish out of life. Our customers feel calm around Janice. They trust her and tell her stuff, where appropriate she encourages them upwards.
She is nice
She smiles. She is happy to talk to you. People light her up.
Janice is nice but not a push over. She is willing to say NO. You benefit from this because she doesn’t say yes to things that she shouldn’t. Working with “yes people” seems nice at first but in the long run it is a nightmare.
She is ever learning
It’s in her nature to always go deeper into her career. For some people it’s easy to stop learning and easy to stop being open to learning. Janice is one of a rare few who are willing and able to constantly keep on learning.
The marketing space we find ourselves in is better defined as a place of endless change, where your ability to learn supersedes the ability to ever arrive at a point of mastery. If we ever find ourselves in a state of feeling like experts, we kick ourselves, because we know the next paradigm shift is already happening and we need to find it.
She is a listener
She will listen to what you have to say. People who listen are really nice to work with. They hear what you’re trying to say. You can tell them what you’re trying to and they will listen until you have managed to explain it even if it takes you a long time to “get it out”.
It makes life so much less stressful and easier for our customers if the person they talk to all the time (Janice) is so good at listening and is then able to enunciate the brief or goal to other team members.
She is wise. She is also experienced.
Wisdom is natural for her. Janice has held some cool roles. She has been part of silver service functions for the Rupert’s. In product development at Nestlé, she was part of taking a number of products from inception, to launch, promo, brand building and advertising. At Tupperware she produced 3 recipe books, with a circulation of 210 000 copies.
She has done her time in Business to Business (B2B) marketing. At a medium sized B2B company that supplies laboratory equipment, she lifted their SEO rank from page twelve to page one. As well as numerous other digital marketing and brand building successes.
She takes lessons from everywhere she has been. You will appreciate this because she willingly shares it with customers.
She is a researcher
She talks to people. She reads up on stuff. She networks. She finds the info she needs to make the right decisions. She does her homework whenever she is creating or fixing something. This makes the work she does for you, brilliant. It transcends the obvious.
She is qualified in marketing
She has an IMM and an admirable trail of distinctions in anything she applies her hand to. She succeeds in her Google Ads exams and stays on top of what matters.
She achieved these things at Wild Pursuit since March 2020 (so far)
- Assisted us in the successful rebuild of the Hisense.co.za website, in budget and on time.
- Earned the right to be our lead marketing copywriter across every high converting website we have produced since 2020.
- Learnt Google Tag Manager (GTM) for conversion tracking (a slippery slope) and somehow got us through the torture of transitioning to Google Analytics 4. (GA4).
- Wrote and directed a brand building video production which was a key reason our work was included in a book published in the UK on video mastery.
- Apart from her strategy input, and copy writing and Google Ads management of the SAA Museum solution, Janice was a critical part of us delivering a 10.4 times return on investment for the museum. We’re in the running at the Marketing Achievement Awards for this work.
She is a customer success manager
This means she learns as much as she can about a customer and their solutions. She contributes, creates and protects a customer’s marketing strategy. She runs all their advertising because you can’t separate customer strategy from things like Google Ads, Facebook Ads, YouTube Ads and full stack SEO. She writes copy, manages graphic design requests, website development requests and co-ordinates it all in symphony. She is responsible for ROI (and delivers on it) for most of our customers. She owns and manages all conversion paths and measurement systems.
She delivered customer success (Return on Investment – ROI) for a number of our customers:
- Micon water – industrial engineering B2B
- Snoozy Baby – consumer ecommerce
- Flicx – B2B sports equipment

- Treadlite 4×4 hire – tourism
